What are ENFJs like in friendships & platonic relationships?

ENFJs are warm, compassionate, and loving friends and companions. Friendships, in general, play a very important role in their lives. They are not the type who would neglect their friends for their romantic relationship. ENFJs’ friends and loved ones can count on them to be there for them no matter what because they are loyal, dedicated, and empathic.

Though they are honest and authentic, ENFJs choose their words very carefully and are incredibly tactful when they need to say something they believe might be painful for their friends. That’s because they are excellent communicators who know especially how to make the right impression and achieve the desired effect.

Moreover, they are great at motivating and supporting their friends, and they are the person everyone goes to when in need of wise counsel.

What are ENFJs like as parents?

As parents, people with the ENFJ personality type are warm, nurturing, and deeply involved in their children’s lives. They focus on creating an emotionally safe and nurturing atmosphere for their children, where they can feel seen, heard, and supported. They prioritize their children’s emotional development over their academic achievements.

However, this doesn’t mean they have low expectations of their children or that they are permissive. They are mature and understand that their children have to find their own motivation and path to success, and they are there for them every step of the way.

Responsible and devoted, they enjoy passing the knowledge and wisdom they have to their offspring, aiming to help them become well-educated, well-rounded, independent individuals.

ENFJ communication style

ENFJ’s communication style is full of warmth, empathy, and understanding. However, though they are more focused on the emotional tone of the communication, they still communicate in a very clear and precise manner.

Moreover, they have a gift for verbalizing very complicated things and making them easily digestible. Not only that, but they also have a knack for attuning to different communication styles, soothing conflicts, and maintaining a positive atmosphere.

Though they are extroverted and easygoing and can strike up a conversation about anything with just about anyone, they prefer deep and meaningful conversations.

What are ENFJs like in conflict?

ENFJs strive to understand all sides involved in the conflict and the emotional background behind it. They seek to find compromising solutions to avoid hurting anyone involved and to restore harmony in the best way they can. In general, they avoid direct confrontation and prefer to address issues in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

3 Tips for interacting with ENFJs

  • Be honest

Don’t try to manipulate or lie to an ENFJ about your intentions or needs; they will see right through your manipulation. ENFJs are genuinely concerned about your well-being, and while they won’t penalize you for not being honest, they might feel offended.

  • Respect their boundaries

It is incredibly hard for an ENFJ to refuse anyone’s request for help, which only makes it more important for you to be aware of their boundaries. Though subtly, they do express them.

  • Show genuine interest

ENFJs appreciate being understood and supported, particularly because they are usually the ones who provide support to others.
