22+ Enchanting ENFJ Anime Characters: Heroes & Villains

ENFJs have bold, multi-faceted personalities and are known for their ability to inspire virtually anyone.

It seems that anime artists and creators are no exception—they, too, must’ve fallen under their spell! Despite being uncommon in real life, the ENFJ personality type isn’t so rare in anime.

Stick around and discover 26 male and female ENFJ anime characters from the best Japanese animation of all time—Avatar: The Last Airbender, Attack on Titan, One Piece, and more!

Main ENFJ Personality Type Traits

The acronym “ENFJ” stands for Extraverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging.

Knowing this, you may expect people with the ENFJ personality type to be social, perceptive, emotional, and structured. While this isn’t necessarily incorrect, interpreting these letters only gives you a glimpse of the traits associated with this personality type.

ENFJ Personality type

To understand it fully, you need to analyze the primary ENFJ cognitive functions:

Thanks to the unique combination of these cognitive functions, ENFJs are:

  • People-oriented. ENFJs are friendly, outgoing, and focused on maintaining amicable relationships with others.
  • Supportive. Nothing in the world brings ENFJs more joy than inspiring and encouraging others to achieve their goals. And they’re mighty good at it!
  • Sensitive. Gentle and warm-hearted, ENFJs are rather sensitive. While this makes them empathetic, it also means that they tend to take things personally.
  • Ambitious. ENFJs are assertive and goal-oriented, which helps them achieve professional success. Not to mention, they have strong leadership skills!
  • Charismatic. ENFJs have that je ne sais quoi that makes them incredibly charming and attractive. Their charisma makes them not only irresistible but also influential!

9 Typical ENFJ Anime Characters

ENFJ Anime Characters

Now that we’re all clear about the key ENFJ personality traits, it’s time to look at the most typical examples of ENFJ anime characters!

#1. Uncle Iroh (Avatar: The Last Airbender)

Iroh perfectly embodies the essence of ENFJs. He patiently guides Zuko through life, helping him learn compassion. Also, he admires all the elements, which shows that he sees the big picture.

While some people believe that Iroh could be an INFJ anime character, his tea craze is a dead giveaway that he uses tertiary—not inferior—Se. He even risked making tea from an unknown plant, which a dominant Ni user would never do!

#2. Taichi Yaegashi (Kokoro Connect)

Taichi is known for his compassionate and helpful attitude that even earns him the nickname “Selfless Freak.” Seriously, he takes altruism to the next level!

Taichi is one of the most sensitive male ENFJ anime characters. He can’t stand seeing people suffer and would rather sacrifice his life than witness others in pain. Not to mention, as typical of ENFJs, he listens to different opinions without an ounce of judgment.

#3. Jonathan Joestar (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure)

Tender-hearted and optimistic, Jonathan is the complete opposite of his ENTJ brother Dio Brando.

Led by Fe, Jonathan aspires to become a “true gentleman.” He holds himself to a high standard and treats everyone with respect. On top of that, instead of giving in to his emotions, he thinks about the consequences of his actions, which is a clear sign of Ni.

#4. Maes Hughes (Fullmetal Alchemist)

Maes is a kind and loving father who would do anything for his family. He’s very proud of his loved ones, constantly sharing pictures of his wife and daughter with others.

Although he often chooses to chit-chat with people instead of working, Maes is a military officer for a reason. Thanks to his auxiliary Ni, he has amazing deduction skills that help him discover the truth about the military.

#5. Tamaki Suoh (Ouran High School Host Club)

Although Tamaki often comes off as vain and self-centered, that couldn’t be further from the truth. He does love beauty—especially beautiful women—but more than that, he cares about making others happy.

Like most ENFJs, Tamaki struggles to understand himself, as he’s always focused on others. He’s so detached from his own feelings and needs that he doesn’t even realize he’s in love with Haruhi!

#6. Victor Nikiforov (Yuri!!! on Ice)

Victor is a great example of an irresistibly charismatic ENFJ anime character. Besides his skills, it’s also his charm that helps him become a figure skating legend and sweep the audience off their feet!

As a Fe user, Victor wants to please his fans. Rather than skating for himself, he does it to entertain the public. As such, he always has surprises up his sleeve instead of repeating the same old tricks.

#7. Hitohito Tadano (Komi Can’t Communicate)

Hitohito is blessed with the gift of observation, which allows him to read people and situations like an open book. Still, despite being highly perceptive and empathetic, he tends to be oblivious to love and relationships.

Like many ENFJs, Hitohito tends to see people as projects, which leads him to help Komi improve her communication skills and make friends.

#8. Vinsmoke Sanji (One Piece)

Vinsmoke is an ENFJ anime character with a white knight syndrome. Although he’s awkward around women, he dreams of rescuing someone—especially Nami and Robin. Luckily for him, his dream occasionally comes true.

Sometimes, however, his need to be there for beautiful women makes him appear irresponsible. When a woman needs him, he can drop all his tasks and abandon the crew in the blink of an eye.

#9. Minato Namikaze (Naruto)

Intelligent and reserved, Minato is a male ENFJ anime character that many people admire, and it’s not without good reason.

Although Minato is a ninja, he doesn’t kill just for fun. He only resorts to violence when the people he cares about are in danger. Given that Minato sacrifices his own life to save his village, it goes without saying that he’s a considerate and selfless soul.

5 ENFJ Female Anime Characters

ENFJ Anime Characters

As with most feeling personality types, the ENFJ personality is more common among women. So, here are some of the most interesting female ENFJ anime characters:

#1. Isabella (The Promised Land)

Isabella is one of the most complex female ENFJ anime characters. She starts as a fun and positive girl. Yet, she later grows up to be cruel and manipulative to save herself from being eaten by demons.

Although she raises children for demons’ consumption, as Mama, Isabella sincerely cares about them. Her love for them becomes apparent when they manage to escape the farm—instead of trying to stop them, she genuinely wishes them good luck.

#2. Emma (The Promised Neverland)

Like her Mama Isabella, Emma is an ENFJ. However, her personality is completely different—she’s joyful, courageous, and creative.

Emma breathes and lives Fe, as she genuinely cares about other people’s feelings. Not only does she put other orphans’ needs before hers, but she also feels responsible when the group’s harmony is shattered—even when it’s not her fault.

#3. Kokomi Teruhashi (The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.)

In a way, Kokomi resembles the mean girl trope—she’s the most popular and beautiful girl in her school. That said, she’s never truly a mean girl, as she doesn’t really want to hurt others. Still, she’s typically only nice to people when she wants to manipulate and take advantage of them.

Nonetheless, Kokomi shows great character development. Throughout the series, she becomes less shallow, as she doesn’t care as much about looks or money.

#4. Mami Tomoe (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

Like most ENFJs, Mami has a strong sense of justice and comes off as older than she actually is.

She’s not only mature and intelligent but also incredibly kind, always prioritizing other people’s needs and wishes. However, she struggles with loneliness, which is why she enjoys throwing tea parties.

#5. Ren Yamai (Komi Can’t Communicate)

Ren is an unhealthy ENFJ anime character. She’s obsessed with Komi, which technically makes her a yandere. Because of this, she tends to act rather inappropriately around her. For example, she can bite her sausage or lick her hair.

Needless to say, her behavior isn’t just strange—at times, it’s outright toxic and abusive. Her loyalty and admiration for Komi are so strong that she could do anything for her!

4 My Hero Academia ENFJ Anime Characters

ENFJ Fictional Characters

Curious if any of your favorite My Hero Academia anime characters have an ENFJ personality? Let’s find out!

#1. Toshinori Yagi “All Might”

Confident and enthusiastic, All Might is a quintessential ENFJ-A anime character. He makes it his responsibility to be the symbol of peace and hope in society. Needless to say, he’s a real go-getter!

He’s a natural-born leader but hides a soft and sensitive heart behind his hero persona and a huge smile. Although he’s powerful and influential, he stays humble and selfless, as most famous ENFJs do.

#2. Mirio Togata

Fun-loving but also serious, Mirio has a rather well-balanced personality. While he loves making jokes, he always apologizes when he crosses the line, as he cares about people’s feelings.

Moreover, Mirio is fully aware of his strengths and weaknesses, which is his strong point in and of itself. He approaches combat rationally, knowing when to unleash his raw power and when to call it quits.

#3. Nana Shimura

Nana is a gentle yet strong ENFJ anime character who mentored All Might to become the hero he is.

Given that she passed on her philosophy of always keeping a smile on your face to All Might, it isn’t hard to guess that she’s also extremely optimistic! She fights for justice and shows empathy toward people, believing that saving hearts is as important as saving lives.

#4. Danjuro Tobita “Gentle Criminal”

“Gentle Criminal” is a perfect alias for Danjuro—despite his crimes, he remains courteous and respectful. As a Fe user, Danjuro is concerned with his reputation, wishing for fame and admiration.

Although he couldn’t care less about other people and walks all over them to progress in life, Danjuro isn’t cold-hearted. He always wanted to become a beloved hero but lost the right direction in life, which led him to commit crimes.

4 Attack on Titan ENFJ Anime Characters

ENFJ Anime Characters

Attack on Titan is a timeless classic. So, let’s see which anime characters represent ENFJs in AoT!

#1. Marco Bodt

Marco is an ENFJ-T anime character. Idealistic and considerate, he strongly believes in others but lacks confidence in his own abilities.

As a typical turbulent ENFJ, Marco is community-minded. As such, he's more concerned with other people’s well-being than his own. He bottles up his emotions to avoid making others uncomfortable and works hard to maintain social harmony in his circle.

#2. Furlan Church

Furlan is cool, calm, and collected, always staying in control of his emotions. However, it doesn’t mean that he’s dull. He might be solemn but still knows when to allow himself to relax.

On top of that, Furlan has great self-awareness. Although he hates being unable to control the situation, he can accept defeat if he sees that there’s no way he can win, which is a sign of auxiliary Ni.

#3. Onyankopon

Onyankopon is an easy-going and religious man. He has good relationships with almost everyone and believes that the world was created by a higher power.

As an anti-Mahr mercenary, Onyankopon did everything he could to win his country independence from Mahr. Moreover, he firmly held his principles and refused to acknowledge the empire of Eldia after seeing Frock Voster kill his colleague, which shows that he’s sensitive and strong-minded.

#4. Willy Tybur

Well-mannered and cautious, Willy is another male ENFJ anime character that comes across as a gentleman. He treats everyone with respect and tries his best to protect his family’s privacy.

Although Willy seems like a moral and respectable man, he doesn’t always use ethical methods to achieve his goals. Sometimes, he uses his charisma and the gift of gab to manipulate people into supporting his ideas.

2 Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba ENFJ Characters

Demon Slayer Characters

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is another anime masterpiece with a fair share of ENFJ anime characters. Here are the most prominent ones:

#1. Tanjiro Kamado

Tanjiro is a highly empathetic demon slayer, and this sometimes makes it challenging for him to deal with demons. Although he kills them, he feels sympathy for the ones who show remorse and believes they shouldn’t be disrespected.

His high level of empathy prevents him from being decisive, but he eventually learns to be more detached and calculated in his approach.

#2. Kyōjurō Rengoku

Rengoku is charismatic, dynamic, and very loyal to his beliefs. His personality is well-rounded, as it has different sides. He can be fun and jovial but also calm and serious.

Although he’s headstrong and goal-oriented, Rengoku enjoys engaging with his tertiary Se. This is especially apparent when he eats sweet potatoes or treats himself to a nice beef bento box and lets out a loud “Umai!” out of satisfaction!

2 Unhealthy ENFJ Anime Characters

Unhealthy ENFJ

As you might’ve already noticed, not all anime characters with the ENFJ personality type are all sunshine and daisies. Here are two truly unhealthy ENFJ anime characters that don’t hide their dark side:

#1. Oikawa Tōru (Haikyuu!!)

Although honest and funny, Oikawa has an unlikable personality. His insecurities push him into subconsciously manipulating and guilt-tripping people.

Oikawa is extremely ambitious and hard-working. Since he isn’t an inherently talented volleyball player, he puts a lot of pressure on himself to succeed at any cost, even if it means losing his girlfriend. That said, Oikawa also has some redeeming qualities—for example, he’s a great team player.

#2. Dōma (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba)

Unlike Oikawa, Dōma could be considered pure evil. At first sight, he seems approachable and friendly, but this is only a facade that hides sinister thoughts and actions. Dōma has an unhinged mind, falsely believing that he’s saving people by devouring them.

Moreover, he has no empathy for people and considers them below him. Since he can’t relate to them, Dōma uses his charisma to manipulate people into trusting him.

Final Thoughts

With our journey into the world of ENFJ anime characters coming to an end, it’s important to remember that the personality types of these anime characters haven’t been officially confirmed by their creators. Still, it’s hard to deny that the above-mentioned characters could be anything but ENFJs!
